GUEST BLOG POST – CHANEL; Thinking About Our Class Shops

THINKING ABOUT OUR CLASS SHOPS

HAT SHOP  On Hat Shop
day we measured people’s heads with a tape measure. We cut the handles off a white plastic shopping bag and we put the bag on the hat brim and stapled it. Then we took a photo and put it on the blog. It was fun.

MARBLE SHOP  When we were doing marble Shop I was with Hannah and Ben. We had lots of fun. We had to keep the marbles at school.  We sold all the marbles in our shop because we put them at cheap prices. I had 10c left because then I would not have to go to the bank for any more money. Some people went to all of the marble shops but I didn’t get to all of them.

STAMP SHOP Ideas for Stamp Shop. You could sort your stamps
into different colours.  Make them cheap so that people will buy them. Make your own stamps. Make prizes like we did with the lollipops in Marble Shop.

MOTHERS DAY STALL  I think the Mothers Day stall was fun because the prices were good. But I thought not all of the stuff suited my mum.  I got a scarf for $8.00.  I got a card for $1.00. I had fun at the Mothers Day Stall. Next year I think they should
arrange the stall so that all the jewellery is all together.

THINKING AND CARING

Our Thursday Divinity – or Religious Education – lesson was held in our garden. We learnt about how worms can help the world, as well as how we can help the world.  God made the world for us to live in and we should not waste his wonderful world.  When God made the world he was very kind and made it so we would survive.

We were putting in worm castings so that things will grow really well in our garden. We have worms in the classroom because they are really interesting and the worm castings are useful.

The people in the Bible story didn’t need to worry because if god looks after the birds and the flowers, he will look after us.

If there is a bushfire God will look after you. He designed people to look after one another, so families and friends are really important for caring. God gave us all manners too for caring.  God talks to you in your head and helps you with good thinking.

All over the world everybody’s god is different but their gods all care for people and birds and flowers.

I am wondering what about people who didn’t believe in God and how did they survive in Bible times? Do you have any wonderings about God?  Leave a comment here.

GUEST BLOG POST – BEN: ‘My New Foal’

My baby foal was born last night. In the morning my Mum was screaming. She found out that the baby foal came out in the middle of the night.

My baby foal is really furry and soft.  He is not as tall as me. He has a white mark on his head. His colour is grey with some black patches.  His legs are skinny and his feet are small. He runs away when we come near him.

He cant go into the paddock yet because he can go through the fence. We have to remember to shut the gate of his yard.

He stays close to his Mum. Her name is Cinderella. She is my horse. Now she has had her baby I can ride her again.

Do you wish you had a pet horse? What do you think I should call my pet horse?

WHAT IS ANZAC DAY ALL ABOUT?

Amy, Ella, Jai, Monique, Shoma and Tara have made a movie to explain what Anzac Day means to them. The movie was made using the SonicPics app on the iPad. The movie was made to tell the students of Forth Worth in Texas about an important national day in Australia.

As you will find out from the movie, the word Anzac came from the involvement of Australian and New Zealand soldiers in World War One. Today we commemorate all Australians involved in war by getting involved in the Dawn Service, eating Anzac biscuits, going to special footy matches, and attending school ceremonies.

Have these moviemakers left anything out? Do you think we should be commemorating Anzac Day doing these activities? Can you think of other ways in which to commemorate?
